Q:About 16hrs ago, you had a question about the guy feeling he wasted his time because of the ios6 requirement and his ipodt 4G. You should tell him iPod touch 4g works just fine with the latest version 6.1.6.
Have you seen the Viggle Minute today, & George’s steel blue pose?
He’s truly the face of the Viggle Minute.
Q:Viggle posted the Oscar Point Adjustment this afternoon :-)
Q:Any idea what the spotlight reward will be today?
Q:FYI to the guy who has issues checking into music with his iPod, I do it 20 times every day without issues from my iPod Gen4.
Q:Viggle has been checking me out of all shows early around the 36 minute mark, is anyone else having the same problem since late last night?
Wednesday, March 5, 2014 - Bonus Point Shows
Most of you got an email from Viggle today. We did, and it said this:
Thank you for tuning into the Oscars on Sunday night. You may have noticed an issue that impacted the points you earned during the show.
In the coming days, we will be adding the appropriate number of Viggle Points to your account. You will see two Oscar adjustments in your Points History - one for the standard Viggle Points and one for the bonus Viggle Points that were available.
Thank you for your patience.
- The Viggle Team
So good to know that point adjustments will be coming soon. — Also, there was talk yesterday of iOS users, and that Viggle will soon only work on iOS6 and above. We posted a list of devices that are supported by iOS6 and iOS7. Please look over it. We do not have a date that this update will happen, but it will at some point.
We also had some questions about qualifying for streaks and quests, and checking into later shows. We talked directly with Viggle about it. Please take heed to their answer, and plan accordingly.

Q:Swagbucks question: Is there a site that give daily limits for everything? I thought the Swagbuck mobile limit was 50. Then today I ended up with more than that. I haven't been able to find a specific Swagbuck site to confirm any of the limits. Do you know what they are? Also, thanks for all you do. Makes Viggling so much easier!
Not sure about that at all. We use SB a lot, but we’re aren’t that deep into it to know that. A search on their site (it is a search engine, after all) could clear that up.
Q:I'm really upset that they are doing it so people with IOS6 or higher can only do it. I just started Viggle last weekend and I already have 11,000 points but I Viggle off my 4 gen Ipod Touch. I feel like it was a waste of time now. I can't even check in to songs because of using apple. I don't think it's really fair.
Technology changes, and we have to grow with that. However, no date has been set on the update that will only accommodate iOS6+ users. It’s just something to prepare for.
You should be fine checking into music. There’s no reason that wouldn’t work.
Q:I can't play ViggleLive, the questions wont load. Do you have any advice?
Q:per your ios post, is the ipad air not on that ? i was gona buy one soon
iOS 6 & 7
Viggle has noted today (and it’s not news per se), that soon enough you will only be able to run Viggle on Apple devices with iOS 6.0 & above. So what devices will iOS 6 & 7 support? This is a list of Apple devices that can be brought up to iOS 7:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4S
- iPhone 5
- iPad 2
- iPad 3
- iPad 4
- iPad Mini
- iPod touch 5th gen
However, here are the devices that are still supported in iOS 6, so some of you won’t be phased out as quickly, perhaps:
- iPhone 3GS (does not support VIP list, Offline Reading List, Shared Photo Stream, Siri, Maps flyover, Turn-by-turn navigation, FaceTime on 3G, Hearing aid support)
- iPhone 4 (does not support Siri, Maps flyover, Turn-by-turn navigation, FaceTime on 3G, Hearing aid support)
- iPhone 4S
- iPad 2
- iPad 3
- iPod touch 4th gen
Absent from both lists are iPad 1, and iPod Touch 3rd generation. If you’re on one of those devices, you’ll have to upgrade at some point down the line.
No date on the update that phases out iOS 5.x.
Q:Please clear up a confusion about the points for the Streaks if you can. My husband and I both do Viggle so we check into shows at the same time 99% of the time but when the points for the Streaks were awarded we didn't get the same. When I emailed them they said I did wrong episodes, I sent screenshots of check ins then they said I didn't do the "live" showing. Some of the streaks say check into "live" airings, some say "original air dates" can you tell me the difference in these?
Well, we’d assume that “original air dates” means the first airing of it in your time zone. We’d also assume that goes for “live” airing, meaning when it’s live in your time zone. However, the system is new, and new rules are in place.
We asked Viggle about the “live airing”, etc., question. We sorta had the same question out of curiosity. The answer from Viggle was simple:
"[A user] cannot check into a recorded version in order to qualify for [a] Streak [or quest]. They have to check in when it airs."
That’s what “live airing” and “original air date” means. When you actually see it airing live, the first run (not a repeat later an hour or two later, as cable stations do anyway). We totally get that might be tough at times for some users, but it’s also good to know it’s a clear answer, and now everyone can plan accordingly. Sadly, as far as your missing points, if you didn’t qualify according to the rule above, you might just have to eat that one, and chalk it up to lesson learned. Sucks, but we doubt they’ll adjust for user error.
Regarding “wrong episodes”, we always suggest that after you confirm your check in, to go to My Shows, and verify the episode title against what is on your TV guide (99% of shows have one). It’s rare, but there are times when you could get checked into an incorrect episode for whatever reason.
